Enviro Day

Today was another great Enviroday. We planted thirty natives with Nixon's gran, Terri. She kindly donated them to us and helped us with digging and planting. It was great eating the feijoa and kiwifruit crumble Whaea Jorja's group made, after all that hard work! We finished off the day with a story read by Amiria, in Kahikatea.

Enviro Awards

Last night Oruaiti won the Northland Regional Council award for Environmental Action in Education. It was a great night and we are super proud to have won!

Production Masks

Today we started to papermache the mask onto the Nikau fronds. We also did another light layer of papermache to smooth over wrinkles and bumps. They are really starting to take shape now!

Tuakana/Teina

Today Kauri class were treated to some awesome reading from Donny in Nikau class. He read about squid which was cool because we have been learning about cephalopods which is the family squid belong to. We hope Donny comes back soon!

Kahikatea

Kahikatea is the new name for the outdoor learning space. Students from all of the classes are now timetabled to use it for their learning. Below is a photo of ruma kauri listening to a story with Whaea Fiona while getting comfy on the been bags in the covered area of Kahikatea.
